Back from our trip to see my parents for Xmas (& Russian New Year's party)

Hi Everyone,

Lena and I returned later on Sunday from our 10 day trip to see my parents and other family for Christmas.

My family again loved Lena, and want us to move to Maryland (but that is not the best option for us at the moment).

My family loved Lena's Christmas gifts (Lena made many of them by hand-- 3 bracelets, and a pillow and blanket). They appreciated those kinds of personal hand-made gifts.

I also bought my dad a metal "KGB" Soviet alcohol drinking flask (that we bought at a Russian shop here in Los Angeles), and a CCCP drinking flask for my cousin.

Being in Los Angeles, it is easier to buy Russian gifts than in most of the U.S.

When Lena and I were flying back to Los Angeles from our trip (practically in mid-air), one of Lena's best Russian friends in L.A. asked her to have a Russian New Year's party at our place. The friend actually told Lena that she had bought the food and drinks, and asked if Lena would make some of her home-made Russian food.

Although Lena was tired, and we weren't planning on having a "Russian" New Year's party at our place so soon after we returned, Lena reluctantly said "yes."

Lena spent all of Monday cooking and making food (and cleaning and organizing our place), and on Monday night we had a New Year's party with a couplem of Lena's friends (and their friends and boyfriends).

Waiting123's wife Dasha called Lena on New Year's Eve (because they were in Hollywood looking around, and went to Universal Studios for the day), and since they were in the are Lena invited them to also come.

It was great to meet Waiting123 and his wife-- they were great people.

A couple of male friends of Lena's friend got pretty drunk at our place, and began acting a little (innocently) wild, but overall it was a nice time.

Lena and I bought a 46" LCD TV as our Christmas persent, and Waiting123 and his wife arrived a few hours early and Waiting helped me put the TV stand together and set up the TV.

I think that Waiting has a couple of pics of the get-together that he might post.

Again, it was great to meet Waiting.

The get-together awas arranged spontaneously, but it seems that everyone had lots of fun.

Lena and I both want to definitely schedule a RMP Los Angeles gathering for either this spring or summer.

Events this yaer prevented us from having one, but we do want to have one this year.

Our group can have the choice of seeing Hollywood, the Beach, perhaps Disyland and Universal Studios (which is less than 5 minutes from where we live).

I will start a new thread about the 2007 gathering in the next few days.

As Khashyar posted, it was wonderful to meet him and Lena for New Year! The party was great, there were a few guests that myself and Dasha had the chance to meet!

Below is a picture of Myself, Khashyar (with Bodhi), Lena, & Dasha

We will have to have a LA RMP get-together soon.

Thanks for posting the additional photos, Waiting...

Lena didn't go overboard this time beacuse she had one day's notice for the party (her friends drafted Lena to host the party at the last minute )

I think I have the Shakira video on my video camera, right? the two of us will have to look at it before we decide to release it on the RMP

Those two guys in the photo above were young American friends of Natasha and Irina (who are two friends of Lena's).

Tasha was a very good bartender that night (she actually took bartender training). Tasha is 21, and was born on the exact same day and month as Lena (April 19).

Yes, it is on your camera! Yes, Tasha was the best bartender that I have ever ordered a drink from

We will review it and add creative editing!
