How real is it to come to Australia with a student visa and change it consequenlty to a work visa ? At the moment, im an accountant (in ireland

Mate Australia has the strictest immigration laws in the world. On my return flight back from Moscow i did meet a young lady who was here on a student visa. She was a doctor but was here to learn English and medical english ( terminology ). She had friends of the family here to that were accomodating her. You can have a look on www.immi.gov.au and it will tell you there. Good luck if you get the chance im sure you will love it...Cheers Mate

oh-well ! I know this website quite by heart

and I have a fair knowledge of all the conditions I have to meet. The thing is: the way it happens in reality can be different from what is on the website

For instance, the only way for Russian people to get to Ireland now is to swim over the Irish sea, even though there are a few other options given on the website. I just was wondering if employers would be willing to go through all the process

of getting work permit for an accountant with experience (not in Australia) and work visa for somebody who would be on a student visa at that moment. Thanks for your reply, ira156 !

as someone who had delt with our immigration mob i would say you need to take there info with a grain of salt,they are famous for saying something & do something totaly different.

i would think your only option here is to come on the student visa,DO NOT MENTION YOU MIGHT LIKE TO STAY & WORK IF ASKED

,then find an employer who would be willing to sponser you
to get the work visa straight up you would need to have lined up the job & then had the employer do a sponsership.
