hey everyone,glad i found this forum.i had this profile on cupid.com here in florida,looking for a woman locally to date and yeah maybe something serious.along comes this russian girl writes to me.i've had afew write me before but i blew them off.this girl was different.so i wrote her back.she's a sweetheart,and she must have cast a spell on me..LOL..never in my wildest dreams thought of a russian woman.anyway in her first letter she says she has a work visa already for florida and will be coming here before her birthday(nov.24)she said she needs someone to show her around....of course yeah.but because of stigma of foriegn woman looking for green cards and the likes.....,i'm thinking...."ah ,i don't know"?is this for real?8 emails later,she hasn't asked a cent from me.she just left today for moscow to get her paperwork in order.still...."ah,i don't know"i hate that feeling because shes given me no reason to feel that way...am i being paranoid?my question is this,if she asks for lets say she needs planefare to usa.is it posible for me to purchase the tickets,where she can pick them up in moscow and use them,but can not refund them,only i can do that.in other words putting the ball in my court,if she is scamming i'm one step ahead of her.god i hate to even be this way...she seems to be a sweetheart,but this is the internet,everthing,everyones not what it always seems to be........thanks for the help.....

Hey heyjimi,welcome to the RMP.

I would not buy the plane tickets,even if she can not cash them in.

Wait for her to show up in Florida,show her around get to know her.

Do not ever send money to someone you have not met.

She may be a honest girl,but I would wait and see how things play out.
Not all Russian girls are scammers,I have met a lot of honest ladies.
Just don't rush into things so fast.

Randy is 100% correct.
Picture this for a worse case scenerio.....
You buy tickets (non-refundable) for Ms. Naratova and dutifully turn up at the airport to meet with her after her long trip.

The flight empties out through the gates and there is no sign of the girl from the photo's you have in your hand. As the crown dwindles you begin to wonder if she had missed her flight. A few enquiries later you find that she was on the flight. So what happened?

She never sent you real pitures of herself and just used you for a free ticket to the states!

Like I said, worse case scenerio, but still possible.

And another thing about a non-refundable ticket is.......you can't refund it, and since it is not in your name, you cannot use it, or apply it to another ticket!!

Hey Jimmi. She was coming to the states anyway...so she had or has money for the ticket. It will be a good sign that she is genuine, if she is i would show her a really good time while she was there and if you hit it off use the money to visit her when she goes back. Hope all goes well. Cheers

Early on I had a similar experience, the lady in question gave me basically the same lines you've received. She even sent me pictures from Moscow while she was "waiting" for her paperwork. I had some suspicions thanks to some advice from the folks on this website & told her I would reimburse her for her ticket costs, never heard from her again.

Yes Russian Women (RW) are worth the time and money. They are so unlike other women I've ever met.

well today this girl asked for money for a plane ticket,said she was short,she only had 300.00,, where did she think she was going for 300.00 on a plane,she of course is getting no money from me,but i am gonna have a little fun with her,play her a little.anyway thanks for the advice,glad i found this forum site...and who knows i might look for a russian woman on here when i'm ready.anyway again thanks...oh and i will be adding this girl onto the scam blacklist......

Seems like you need to study read between lines such e-mails. :-))))
True intentions of this "person" (man/woman) are absolutely clear.
By the way, you may ask her to send you a copy of her visa or number her passport, or name of her company in the USA and some phone numbers. There are a lot of ways to recognise true intention of people.

yeah shes given me her passport scanned,but still who knows how elaborate a scammer she is,could have fabricated that thru various softwares on the market.heres what blows my mind,,i played her a little,telling her,i can send a ticket in my name,her as a guest user(a bull story of course)and it can only be used for that date and destination,she can not refund it,i would also need a scanned copy of her letter of approval for visa,visa title number.name of the company shes going to work for(telephone # for verification)all of this i'm making up in my head,keep in mind i'm new to all this i dont know much about visas,except they are hard to get,i'm a professional musician,so i have done some travel in europe,but not to russia.so anyway i thought at this point i'd never hear from her,right? nope....theres an email stating,shes gonna get the documents and scan them....i'm like han?.....so i gave her another way out story.......how do you feel about me coming to you? she said ,,,give me your flight number,terminal i'll meet you at the airport......and again han? i'm just chalking this up as a learning experience,i just think its too much of a mind game,,,after all for any relationship,got to be trust,and since i'm on here,spilling my guts out about this....shows no sign of trust...you know what i mean?.....

There is the other side of the scam coin. You go to Russia and meet the woman you've been e-mailing and she takes you shopping .. gifts for her of course, when your money is gone ... so is she. Some also do it to get a free vacation to a city other then theirs. That is one of the many reasons why it is best to meet her in her city.

yup i finally found my darling sweetheart galina on a google search,boy she gets around,shes doing about 14 guys right at this moment,thank god we found out about her,still i wonder how many guys fell for her scam and sent her money.and the funny thing shes still writing me....calling ME a liar...han?(cause i played her for a bit)well the moral of the story if its too good to be true,its not true(especially if your 43,shes 25,a little above average in looks like my self and shes a knockout beauty queen...come on wake up !!!lol ),,or better yet think with your big head,not your other head if i'm allowed to say that. thank god for this and other web sites ....

Well,I guess you are happy you found out now and not after it is to late.
As I said before,there are many honest Russian ladies out there,you just have to watch out for the few that are not honest.

The honest one's are great ladies,once you have had one,it is hard to see another North American lady.Trust me on this.

Hope this dose not scare you away from Russian women,we are all ways here to help.

no randy,it hasn't scared me off about russian women,actually i'm thinking about looking for one...whats a good site to go to,because what i'm reading is there alot of bad sites as well....but anyway,i chaulk it up as experience,now i know.before i was ignorant on the matter,now i'm a little wiser......thanks again to everyone..........
