I turned 31 in July. Just missed the younger age bracket. Oh, and by the way, this January after my trip to Ukraine, I will not be flying home alone. The wait is finally coming to an end !

Posted by: Ade

Dude,

Why is the 40-49 range italicised? isn't that discriminatory or something?

Ade

Posted by: martin3030

Maybe they think this age group cant see the usual text........what is forgotten of course is that this age group are perfectly able to see clearly........................they must have been to specsavers .....

Randy

Posted by: martin3030

There is a saying here in the north (England )
"you are as old as yo feel......and the person you are feeling !

Theres a lot of truth in that......even if it is tongue in cheek !

Posted by: Northernlight

Doh. was it Jack Benny who used to say his age was 39 yrs.

I recall one of the preformers saying that line until he was into his sixties.

Hell even 49 is a great age, slipped over that now, so I'll let you guys know how 59 is.

I am 47 and I like where I am at. My lovely Olesya is 32. When I told her how old I was, she said her father is 20 years older than her mother and didn't think our age difference was a problem. NO I DON'T NEED TO HAVE TYPE THAT BIG. I wear contacts.

Posted by: mistermopar

WOW,now some of you guys are making me feel pretty young..LOL

Randy

Posted by: Leprechaun

One thing that has struck me is the amount of over 40's that can use a PC also ;o)
Do you guys use the built in speech thingy to read these posts???

Heheheh.

Anyone out there with a woman OLDER than himself?

Posted by: Ade

Hi Lep,

Yeah, these computers are tricky...I get my 7 year old great-nephew to work it for me.......sometimes he posts replies on my behalf too, while I go to the pub with his dad

I am actually quite surprised no one is or has had the courage to vote in the 60+ category. I know of quite a few in this age group!

Hi Youlek,welcome to the RMP.

If you can not get the icons when clicking on them,go to the very bottom of this page.
You will see a box on the left side of the screen that says posting rules.
Here you can see if the smilies are turned on.

When you are posting a message, the icons that you will want are on the right side of the screen, beside where you are writing the message.

hope this helps,if not let us know and we will try to help more.

Randy

who forces you to marry?

Besides it is too early for a man to marry at 26

Posted by: yoshi211

well nobody forced me to marry. i have seem some people get married at 18-20 years old then a few years later they are divorced, and that wont be me. like i said i am not in a hurry and nobody is rushing me.

I like your optimism yoshi211, I waited 'till I was 43 to get married and it lasted 9 months. Age isn't necessarily the main component in finding the right fit. I'm 48 now and only hope I get another chance at something longer lasting.

Posted by: yoshi211

well dee3 i hope you find that person. me i have 4 that i am writing right know. good luck.

yes youlek i am a "macho" or a man in Spanish, for some of you out there that don't understand the word "macho". i was born in Cuba but my family moved to united states when i was 5 years old, so i don't have alot of memories of Cuba and i have never been back either. well my nickname is yoshi, got it in the 5th grade, and the 2 means well none thing i guess. i found out that yoshi was already taken up by someone on this forum. and the 11 means the day that my family came to this country on 9/11/88, and yes i do know about what this date also means to me. well if you have any more questions for me to answer feel free to give me a page. thanks for asking......

By macho I meant a handsome man

Posted by: Legal

In literature
In American literature, a memorable example of machismo comes from Tennessee Williams' character Stanley Kowalski, the egotistical brother-in-law in A Streetcar Named Desire. In the play (and in the motion picture), Stanley epitomises the hyper-masculine alpha male, socially and physically dominating and imposing his will upon his wife and her sister, Blanche Dubois. Bound up with Stanley's aggressive and occasionally misogynist views is a strong sense of pride and honor which leads to his hatred of Blanche.

In Spanish
According to the Merriam-Webster online, the English word machismo is derived from Spanish macho, which means "male" or, when used metaphorically, "virile".[1]

A cognate of the English word exists in Spanish, but the two should not be confused. Spanish machismo means "sexism" or "male chauvinism" (along with the adjective machista, "sexist" or "male chauvinist").[2] The same happens in Portuguese (From Wikipedia)

I prefer a man - gentleman - my husband

Olga.

yea LEPRECHUAN pilots are high on the desirable list, but not with the other co-workers. And besides the long hours and long time from being away from home puts a lot of strain on relationships. i would say that of all the pilot Captains i have flown with, about 80% are single or divorced.

So i guess i am in a weird position, i have a high paying job and in a very desirable position among the women. but most women dont want there man away from home so long, oh what should i do. i guess i am going to stick to my job and see where it takes me.

I wondered who that was.

The Irish say "you are only as old as the woman you feel"

=o)

Ah, maybe that makes me pretty darn young.

What about if you were 32 and Olesya -47
What would your mum say in that case?

Posted by: martin3030

I was 46 and Father in law was 50....Only later was I told that my ex had told her parents I was younger.
The issue was never raised (or certainly I never heard it)
I got on very well with the Father...in fact we thought pretty much the same.
Lets not forget the the main thing for the parents is to see that their kids are with someone who loves and cares for them....and of course that they are happy.
As you see more of them and as time goes on....then if things are going ok then any niggling doubts that were there from the start slowly begin to disappear for them.
This was certainly my experience anyway.

Posted by: alfie

I'm 41 & looking.

Posted by: matt235

Well, I'm 42 (43 in a few months) and definately in the searching mode. But to paraphrase what some others have said, "You are only as old as the woman you are feeling". I guess that makes me about 26 (ex-girlfriend, with emphasis on the "ex").
