This was a really fun cartoon series from the 60s. Obviously banned in the USSR, but also banned in Canada for a while, due to depicting the buffonery of the Royal Canadian Mountain Police(in partner cartoon Dudley Do-Right).
Just wondering if you can get to see Boris and Natasha and Fearless Leader on TV nowadays in the FSU? After all, "Hogan's Heroes"(which equally lampoons Nazi Germany) is now a big hit in Deutschland, after not being shown all these years.
Boris' surname, "Badenov" is a humorous take-off of the famous opera "Boris Goodenov", if you didn't get it the first time. For those who saw these cartoons as "Cold War" children, it may be interesting to look at the perspective now as an adult, and as a fan of the people of the FSU.
Equally interesting, that in Northern Belarus, there are a lot of Moose and Squirrel, roaming around freely......hmmmm

Yes, I remember the cartoons, but when they were first run, I was a little too young to understand all the political underpinnings. Didn't get that till they were re-runs when I was a teenager. Is anyone airing these today in the U.S.?
I was kind of surprised that my wife has never heard of The Munsters either.

I remember the cartoons very well. A lot of different US shows of the time parodied ( brainwashed ) children of the time. Probably the only comparison today is the satirical look of Southpark....on all subjects. And they still have a go at the Canadians.
