Accommodation needed in Minsk - Next October

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Greetings all,

There's a distinct possibility I will be roaming around the city limits of Minsk, Belarus for a week (or more) sometime during the final weeks of October. I may arrive the second or last week of next month, and I'd love to arrange some cheap accommodation during my stay. Can anyone help out with this future predicament?

Please bear in mind, I will be traveling with an extremely tight budget. So, I have no interest in ludicrous, overpriced hotels. It appears the 'budget travelers hostel' Biz concept is somewhat non-existent in Belarus. Unless anyone cares to correct this perception, it'd be much welcomed.

Thanks for any input provided.

When i was minsk i stayed here.It is cheap and i found the staff very kind.It is near the edge of the city but the public transportation is cheap and easy to use.If you are looking for good and cheap places to eat at? let me know.I can get you the info of places I ate at.I know your on a budget but i would not get a room for less then $36 a night there.
Have a safe and happy trip

I was looking at the map they have on their site, and it still doesn't give me the idea of where it is, in relation to everything else.

Where is it compared to downtown, or the airport(s)? North, South East or West?

Thanks for the link and the helpful information.

I'll consider this hotel . . . the name of this one shouldn't be too difficult to remember!

It is SW of the centre which means it is on the opposite side of the city from Minsk-2 (which is NE) but reasonably close to Minsk-1 (which is basically due S of the centre).

I'm not exactly what the expression "downtown" means, but if you were to head in the direction of the centre from there you would reach the Nemiga district after about 6 km (which is where the Jubilee Hotel is) and from there you would turn right up the hill to reach Skorina Avenue (yes, I know Luka changed the name but no-one I know pays any attention to that).
