I'm planning to visit Minsk, Belarus in late October . . . or possibly early November, but I'm hoping to see the Fall colors. Can anyone describe the climate in Belarus during this part of the year?

Also, when does the first snowfall usually occur?

Can't help you with Belarus, but first snowfall last year in Moscow was on 22-23 October. Take some warm clothing regardless.

You might still catch some fall colours but most of the trees will have already lost there leaves by then.
Expect 6-15 degree celsius days and can drop to -10 degrees celsius at night around that time of year can get even colder than that and rainy.

Hey 5-Zvezda,I was in Belarus last year from late Oct.to early Nov.
They had a light snow fall a few times but it did not stay.
I found it to be very cold,went right through me,and I had a warm coat.
There were some nice days,but still needed a coat.

I did a trip report in the travel section,"My trip to Mogilev",I was also in Minsk.

Just do a search and type in,my trip to mogilev and it should come up.
I also posted alot of photos.

I have only been there in the summer so I can't say what Belarus is like jurring that time of the year, but i know someone who can.So i will let her know about this topic.I am sure she would love to fill you in.

I hope you have half as much fun as I did there.

At that time it`s hard to predict the weather exactly in Minsk , but very possible that temperature will be between (-5)-(+10)CC, maybe it will snow, so I would recommend to take with you a warm coat and a sweater from wool.

In a childish way I would love to see the whole place covered in snow when I travel to Minsk at the end of October. I fear that I'll be a few weeks too early to see any of the white stuff settled on the ground.
