Once again a delayed marriage

Hi

It seems me and my Natalies marriage is going to be delayed again. Our plan were in October, but soon in September we realized it will not happen.
It actually did'nt have any major impact of our plans, that we 'moved' the wedding until December.

But once again, its paper problemer and nobody can give a proper answer.
The first delay, was mainly due to my country gave my bad information about what kind of translator I could use. Anyway, in the end I got it translated and with the needed stamps, from my Foriegn affair department.

When I visit her and she took the papers to a Russian notar, he could'nt read english. Actually it was only the 2 stamps there was in English. But she had to go to a translator and have them translated as well.
She got it back last Tuesday with a stamp from a Russian notar, but then I had been home for a day.

She goes the Zags and is redirected to the regional zags Friday. They gave answer yesterday. A paper is missing, but could not tell what.
Today Natalie went back to hear what paper. She person who has the case is in a meeting and was told to come back later. So she did, but not the person from the meeting.

This evening, Natalie told me that she has her mind set for a marriage in February.

IF I am very lucky, this will not affect our plans, but most likely it will = not be together next summer.

---
What zags did tell, was they needed to see me hand over the papers personally. I went to see at the internet to find out more. If I am right, its the marriage registration form I have'nt fill out.
what I hope is its the only papers who is missing and according the homepage, I can sign the paper at the Russian Embassy in my country. So my hopes is stil up for the December wedding, but right now everuthing sux !!

I HATE Russian admnistration. Its something from the stoneage.

I know it's difficult to deal with government agencies, the paperwork, and how everything must be "Official" and "Notarized." And it's terrible that this makes it difficult for people to plan their lives together. I really wish that the people who process these applications would understand that there are real lives and emotions that are being presented on these forms.

I wish you the best of luck, Brian! I hope all will be resolved soon with the paperwork and bureaucratic issues. And in the end, I'm sure you will feel like it was all worth it!

Take care!

Bob K.

It sounds like the delay is so that you can be married in Russia? That is that the delay is because of Russian bureaucracy, not Danish bureaucracy? If this is so, have you asked if there is a "special price" that you could pay to speed things up?

My fiancee had friends who got married in Russia to foreigners who paid a higher price to speed up the usually slow Russian marriage certification process.

To Golek

First delay was mainly due the fact, I got wrong information of which translator I could use.

But the big problem is of course in Russia, where they cant read English and have big Sovjet rules.

In case you don't know. Denmark is America answer to Las Vegas. There are many 1000 foriegner who get married in Denmark, among these Americans who are based in Germany and fall in-love with a german girl. Why? because the paperwork in my country is easy.

In my process I have showed up at at Danish Foriegn affair department and 5 minutes later, I leave WITH the stamps. Or if I mailed Monday, I have it back WITh stamp wednesday.

So without vancation and a small battle about the translator, it would only have taken 2 weeks in Denmark to get all the papers and stamps.

My nata went to the Zags in august and asked, what papers are needed. Here she did'nt get all the informations.
In these proces I had different explanation on what to due and called the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen. Their answer: ask your girl, we don't know.

I am so sick and tired of Sovet-Russia.

I just think there has got to be some one in Russia who can help you sort through this for a price. The thing about Russia is that money can lubricate almost anything. Of course you must be very careful with this.

Another thought, have you tried calling the Danish embassy in Russia and asking if they can refer you to a Danish/Russian translator? In cities like Moscow or St. Pete there must be such people. If the problem is that noone can read English, why fool with it? If you can find such a service, you can just translate your documents directly to Russian and back to Danish.
