Sveta, Odessa, and St Helens

Well guys the day has arrived I went to Odessa as planed on the 1st Sept. I used Czech Airlines again from Manchester all was well, got there just in time for Odessa’s birthday on the 2nd 212 years since Odessa was born, what a night the centre was closed to traffic and there where stages with artist on n every corner, the streets where full of people, music, and of course alcohol what a night.

We had a good weekend then on Monday I brought my Sveta to England, all was good except passport control, no real problems just long queues and lot of nervousness from Sveta but once they realised she was not alone, but with me, all seamed to be ok and they where very nice and helpful, they even let me go back through the barrier to help her fill in a visitors card, because I had gone through our European gate and then waited for Sveta by their exits.
Her first night she was very restless but she seems to be settling in nicely now , she has now met with my family and today we will go to Chester for the day, Friday I will treat her to the finest game our lord invented Rugby League we are at home to Leeds.
She is here for just over three weeks so we have lots of time, if any one has any ideas about where and how we can spend our time, please let me know,( please keep it clean boys) I wish her to see as much of our country as I can

You could always take her to Twickenham and show her a real game of rugby LOL

I second that Bing...although I am from the North I much prefer Union!!

JJ why not take her to Knowsley Safari Park just up the road from you, also Liverpool Albert Dock etc there is quite a good Russian restaurant in Liverpool also, the St Petersburg, I went to it earlier this year, bit pricey but OK for a change and for her to get some food she is used too.

Obviously the Lake District and here at home the illuminations have just started, they run until early November. There are also some really good shows on in the town (Blackpool) and also some at the Pleasure beach...and the Ice Show too.....lots to do....all will be winnners with her I am sure.

Then there is York, Manchester etc etc etc

A little tip - if you go to London and decide to take the London Eye, book online and pre-book a Dixcovery Flight with a Russian translator. It's really nice for your other half and also there are generally very few people in the capsule. In fact, when I took M, it was just me, M and the translator!!

Hi John,

If you're heading over Sheffield way at any time, there are a few things that may be of interest here......and I'm sure Seida would be happy to escort Sveta to Meadowhall for a day's shopping

Plus you're nearby for the Peak District, which is always good to see.
