Teaching English in Russia

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Has anyone done this? Or gone to Russia for Russian classes for a total-immersion experience? Also, does anyone know of Russian language tutoring in the NY area? Has anyone audited or taken Russian language classes in college? Also what about those Rosetta Stone and similar CD programs? Rosetta Stone claims a "total-immersion experience" but how can that be possible from CDs or CD-ROMs? I don't understand that.

Any info on these questions would be great. Thanks.

I took Russian language classes in college two years ago and it was very interesting being back on a college campus. And I absolutely love Rosetta Stone software.

Welcome to the forum Rattlehead!

Welcome to the RMP Rattlehead.
Yes there are many people who have gone to Russia to teach English, and learn Russian at the same time.

I know of one member here that has gone to Russia to teach English.I am hoping to go there to teach English.

Hi Rattlehead - yep, I'm in Ufa right now (have been for the past 2-months). I did an intensive CELTA course in London and I'm teaching English over here. It's hard work, but I'd recommend it

Hey Bing, hows it going over there?
I didn't want to mention your name in the post, but knew you would show up sooner or later.

I am waiting for the thread on your adventures there.

I will be in Volzhsky on the 21st of September for a holiday and to check out some schools and leave my resumes.

Hope your having a good time,

Randy

I have taught English in Russia, participated in a Russian language immersion program in Russia, and taken college classes in Russian--but not neccesarily in that order
