Hey guys,

Just got a letter from a girl I've been corresponding with from Belarus.
She wrote me a P.S. that translates except for the last word.....

Here's the sentence in Russian followed by the English translation except for the last word (the one I cant seem to figure out).

P.S.У тебя очень симпатичный песик!

P.S.У You very nice песик!

Anyone know what песик translates to in English?

Interesting, as пёсик means pooch or little dog

But I'm no russian speaker. Someone will elaborate soon!

I'm pretty useless at Russian, but do you by any chance have a nice dog and you sent a photo of one? У тебя очень симпатичный песик! "Near to you is a very attractive doggy". I'm assuming the pessik bit is just the addition of the -ik in relation to that soppy language that we all use from time to time with our other halves... sad but true

simpaticheskii - directly translated = sympathetic, but it's one of the biggest false-friends in Russian and English. "attractive" is perhaps better, since it's used in the context of "the room was very sympathetically decorated" and can be used to describe people too. This use is quite old / unpopular in English these days.

Sorry to the Russian speakers if I'm wrong....

Buckeye

I think it translates to:

"You have very likeable doggie!"

A better translation than "likeable" for симпатичный would be "cute."

So she said that you have a very cute dog.
