English Classes in Russian/Ukraine?

I'm looking for a service that provides private tutoring of English in Sumy, Ukraine. I know AFA does. Any other recommendations?
Thanks.

I suggest you get someone to post this question in one of the Russian language forums.

Ok, I'm back looking... But I don't understand. Where are these Russian language forums besides here?

Hi RRR,

If you mean that you want to arrange private English lessons for a Ukrainian special someone, she should be able to find English classes there, or perhaps ads for English language lessons in the local newspaper. (She would be better able to find English language lessons than you would).

Or, do you mean that you would like to teach English in Ukraine?

Yes I'm talking about private English lessons for someone in Ukraine. I purchased a "Beginner's" level course from AFA, but it seemed too short and bit pricey. So, I looking for a better deal for a longer term of classes that I could purchase for her. I would rather not have her find a tutor and reimburse her. I would like to make it a surprise as well. She's in Sumy.
Thanks if you have some info.

I don't know of anyone specifically to recommend, but I think it would still be a wonderful surprise if you told her that you would like to purchase English lessons for her, and would she please look in the papers or look in the language schools to find private lessons available.

By the way, group (or class) lessons could also be useful, because she can receive feedback from others, and learn from others mistakes and successes (it would be much cheaper than private lessons, and you could give her both).

Thanks for the ideas.

I tried looking up some language schools, and Eng. classes @ Sumy universities and haven't been successful thus far.
I would prefer paying the tutor or school directly instead of sending money to the girl I'm talking to, but I'll have to see how that works out.

I ran across some Sumy tour guide and interpreter info @ russia-ukraine-travel.com. Hopefully I can get some tutor information from them.

I have also talked to some people on those personal message sites from people in Sumy. One was asking for $10 per 80 min. lesson w/o reading materials. Is this the going rate for that area? It sounds fine to me, but I do not want a tutor who's just trying to get extra money out of a foreigner. I've also heard a decent income there is $5/day?

Thanks for anymore info.
