Invitation not needed to get visa for Belarus in near future?

In my last letter from Nadya. She told me that in the near future, I may not need an invitation to visit her in her country. She said I will need one for this trip, which she has already sent to me, but that perhaps on my return visit the invitation will no longer be needed to get a visa to visit. Has anyone else heard of this? Maybe Belarus is trying to follow Ukraine's suit on this. Just found it to be interesting info.

I don't know about Belarus, but in Russia, a inviation from her is not good enough just like that.

In Russia, the person must type it at a typewriter or computer, have it stamped at a notar. Fill out a existing paper from the OVIR, turn in the papers along with papers showing what medical covers YOU have. In the papers she must fill out how must she make, where she works.

If its so in Belarus; you can have your travel agency make one for you. Of course for a 'smaller' fee.

Hi Kevin and Brian...

I have not heard yet that an invitation will not be needed for Belarus... (Kevin, your fiance would know better than I would since she lives there now)...

But, that would certainly help travelers visit Belarus and help bring in more tourist dollars to Belarus...

If I hear anything about this, I will let you know...
