A general question for the forum:

The cost of my fiance buying a flight ticket from moscow to los angeles is double the cost of the price of getting it here in los anageles. My question is---what steps, or information from her do I need to purchase the plane ticket here to mail it to her?

quite simple. Let her scan her Passport and send it to you, any Internet-cafe can do this. Agree on date's and visit your nearest friendly ticket-outlet, where you buy a reverse-flight return(?) ticket.
She'll be able to pick it up there, but surely you can also DHL it to her, dunno whast you want. It is possible that your agent is liased with a Russian partner or group so you will not even see the ticket, it'll be made out there.

But I'll bet you though that you just might be surprised with the cost of such, definitely more than your 'normal' ticket.

do some harder searching for a airline ticket. I remember finding a flight to Florida one way from Moscow for around 200.00. I'm sure around trip couldn't be much more. All I can remember is that it was a Russian airlines and it had a stop in a FSU country before going to Florida. (try travel agencies that specialize in Russia trips)
and can't you prepay for the trip and have her pick it up with a I.D. at the airport? (I'm not sure on this)

I found roundtrip tickets to Belarus for $633. You should be able to find oneway tickets for a lot less than half that price from Moscow.

I've done this twice now. All you need is her name (spelled exactly like english translation in her int'l. passport and her passport # thats all.

You can send by global express mail and on the green customs ticket write "PERSONAL DOCUMENTS" for value put "$0" as they are worthless without her passport

also keep in mind that from this end the CHEAPEST flights will be R/T midweek where the return is LESS than 30 days after the departure, and tix are purchased more than 30 days in advance.

we just checked on tix for the little one:
R/T = $ 570.00, one way = $2,845.00
