I thought this was cool.

Skype also do one (about $100-150) online. I used Skype to call SPb and Moscow at 1.2p (2.0c) and recently to Ufa at 2.7p (4.5c) a minute - the line has always been better than a standard line-to-line call!!

So Messenger is free and you pay 4.5 cents a minute. Free versus 4.5 cents a minute. I know that Internet is not free in Russia, but it beats 4.5 cents a minute. Plus skype is not offered everywhere.

The best suggestion is the one from Vic, use internetcalls.com, $10 every three months for free calls to Russia, my wife has made 50 hours of calls to Russia in the past two and a half months and just for $10, absolute bargain.

I may have misinterpretted what's on offer... I thought Messenger was only free messenger to messenger, in the same way as Skype and ICQ phone, etc. If I'm wrong, I'd love to know

You dont need it, why waste $179 (plus delivery)

See: http://russianmeetingplace.com/foru...read.php?t=8742

a $20 adaptor is all you require. Mine works perfectly. All my daytime calls around the country - free, most of my international calls - free, and only 9p to UK mobiles (free to US mobiles and Russian mobiles that are on receive-free tariffs).

And ALL this is all on my normal cordless house phone. I still get my normal incoming BT calls and I can call out on BT if I want.

And the $10 per three months that, Swindoom mentioned gets used up calling Uk mobiles etc. It's not wasted.

Get in there..........IT REALLY IS FREE
