Well, I have my travel confirmed, I should receive the Invitation from Nadya any day now and I will submit for the Visa. I should be able to get that in plenty of time. Now that I know the date of departure. Every thing becomes more definitive!! T -two months and counting!!! I am so pumped. Nadya was extremely happy when I sent my flight information to her. It was a confirmation that I will be with her for real in December. What works out really nice is that her niece Katya, has a birthday on the 7th and I will be there in time for it!! She and I have become buddies in a way!!
One quick question, should I not be able to get the visa in less than two months for Belarus????

Any info would help!!

I will be taking two 512MB cards for my Digital Camera so I will be uploading pictures!! Some probably while I'm there. That way I can experience the Internet Cafe first hand!!!!

One quick answer -- Yes.

A longer answer -- If you are getting a tourist visa, using a travel agency should only take you 2 weeks +/- a day or so.

The adventure begins...

Thanks Conner and Bob,

Everything is working out pretty good. Yesterday I got a check for a deal I swung on the internet. I sell used and refurbed electronics online and made a deal that brought a few G's my way!! The whole trip is paid for and I didn't have to touch the savings!!! More money for home renovations!!!

Hi Klawsite,

I went to Belarus earlier this year to visit the woman I was corresponding with (we are now engaged), and I just want to let you know that I did not use a travel agency (an avenue mentioned by ConnerVt) to acquire the visa, and I still received it within about two weeks. It's a simple matter to gather the documents that the Belarus embassy requires you to send; you can find all the information you need at the embassy's website, www.belarusembassy.org. If you need to ask the embassy personnel any questions, as I did, I found the consular officer with whom I spoke to be courteous and helpful. Anyway, I thought I would let you know it's possible to get the visa quickly without paying someone else to get it for you.
Also, I recall seeing a question posted by Laters about whether or not it is possible to obtain flowers at the Minsk 2 airport. Just in case you're planning to hand her flowers when you meet her at the airport, you can't get them before you pass through the reception area, where she will undoubtedly be standing to greet you. So, you'll want to buy the flowers at Frankfurt or whatever airport where you're boarding your flight to Minsk. I hope everything works out well for you.

Thanks Mike,

I will hit that site today and get the forms I need. I am planning on getting the Roses (Red of course) at the Fankfurt airport!! I've got a good idea what else I am going to bring as well!! I am so ready to go now!!!! I cant imagine what I'm going to be like in December!! Any one have an idea what the Philly airport is like?Never flew into Philly before. That is where I am connecting the flight to Frankfurt at!!

Hi Kevin,

Congratulations on your trip, you'll have a great time, I'm sure I am thinking of taking my third trip to Ukraine for New Year celebrations (either December 31st, or January 13th, as they celebrate twice! More vodka for me again!)

It sounds like a hassle for you guy's in America to obtain a visa to travel to Russia/FSU? I think I am lucky here in England, where if I am prepared to travel to London, I can obtain a visa within two days, which has saved my bacon on two occasions!!

Quick question, can you speak, or are you learning Russian? The reaction to my speaking basic pleasantries in Russian went down a treat, and I am now at college learning!!

Red roses are a great idea, Nadya will love them. I found during my second trip that Anna's friends were very "snap happy" with the camera, which was great, and in 6 days I had taken almost 400 pictures!! Probably about 30 of them of me and Anna kissing

It's a great feeling waiting for your first trip

Si
