I was talking to a Russian the other day and she seems very pro the death penalty. I have read that Putin has gotten rid of it but many Russians are very pro death penalty in polls. I also know that the EU is very anti the death penalty and to get into many European transnational organizations a nation is recquired to get rid of the death penalty. Thus if Russia were to start carrying out executions, Moscow's influence over world affairs would be reduced. Do you think that the death penalty will be brought back in Russia?

That's a great question, tjt....
It does seem that Russians have a harder view of reality than Westerners do, and therefore would support the death penalty, but I would like to ask Lena about her opinion about this.
Of course, the death penalty is legal in some states in the U.S., although I personally don't feel comfortable with it.
I would love to hear some Russian perspectives regarding it.

Let us just say. Its not needed.
Anybody 'bad' would for some reason not survive a prison time. So no need to put into a law and cause political turmoil with EU.
